Booking & Payment

General protocol:

🕒 For all tours, travellers are expected to adhere to the published schedule. Away Together cannot wait for latecomers or refund missed departures.

Day Trips

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Extended Trips

A non-refundable (but transferable) deposit of €100 per person secures your booking.
Balance due 10 days prior to departure.

Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers

If You Cancel

  • Full refund within 72 hours of booking.

  • Cancellations 48+ hours before departure: refund of balance (deposit retained).

  • Deposit is non-refundable but transferable.

  • No refunds within 48 hours, but your place can be transferred to another person.

All cancellations must be made in writing (email or message) and are effective upon receipt.

If We Cancel or Change the Trip

If Away Together cancels a trip (e.g., due to low numbers or unforeseen circumstances), you may choose:

  • A free transfer to a future trip
    OR

  • A full refund within 14 days.

Transferring Your Booking

You may transfer your booking if:

  • The substitute meets all trip requirements

  • You notify us at least 7 days before departure of any change

  • Both you and the new traveller accept the terms

  • You remain responsible for full payment

Group Bookings & Cancellations

Groups are subject to the cancellation and refund policies of third-party suppliers (e.g., hotels, transport providers).
Refunds for group bookings will reflect those policies, not Away Together’s.

Who Can Travel?

We welcome all solo travellers, couples, friends and newcomers looking for connection.
Trips typically suit ages 30+, but younger adults may join by request.
Each trip includes guidance on fitness and mobility levels to help you select appropriately.

Special Requests

Please inform us at time of booking of:

  • Accessibility needs

  • Dietary requirements

  • Room preferences

We will do our best to accommodate, but some requests may depend on suppliers' availability.

Late Bookings

Early booking is advised – seats are limited.

Late bookings may incur additional costs (e.g., hotels).
Please await written confirmation before booking travel or accommodation.

For last-minute bookings, your contract is valid once full payment is processed.

Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Debit card (via Stripe)

  • Bank transfer

  • Cash or cheque (by arrangement)

Gift Vouchers

  • Available year-round

  • No expiry date

  • Ideal for birthdays, retirements, and special occasions

Cutting Your Trip Short

No refunds can be given for unused services if you leave a trip early.
You may claim through your travel insurance, if applicable.

Personal Responsibility & Liability

Loss, Theft & Damage

Away Together accepts no responsibility for:

  • Loss or theft of personal property

  • Damage to luggage or belongings

  • Misplaced items at accommodation, stops, or on transport

This applies to all modes of transport, including:

  • Public transport (e.g., Irish Rail, Expressway)

  • Private coaches (e.g., JJ Kavanagh & Sons)

  • Taxis, ferries, or transfers

Personal property is carried at your own risk at all times.

Injury, Illness & Sickness

Participation in all tours is voluntary and at your own risk.

Away Together holds no liability for:

  • Personal injury, sickness, or accidents during the trip

  • Consequential loss, e.g., missed connections, replacement costs

We are not liable for any loss resulting from:

  • Your actions or omissions

  • The actions of a third party unconnected with Away Together

  • Events beyond our control (weather, strikes, emergencies, etc.)

Your Travel Contract

By booking a trip with Away Together, you confirm:

  • You have read and agree to these terms

  • You accept the inherent risks of group travel

  • You meet the stated fitness/mobility levels

  • You have adequate personal travel insurance (for overnight trips or those involving risk)

  • You consent to us using your details in line with our Privacy Policy

Medical Conditions & Accessibility

Please notify us at booking if:

  • You have a condition that may impact your participation

  • You require assistance or adjustments

  • You are recovering from illness or injury

We are not a specialist disability travel provider but will do our best to accommodate you.

We may request a doctor’s certificate and reserve the right to:

  • Decline your booking if we cannot safely meet your needs

  • Cancel a booking with refund (minus costs incurred), if participation is not advised

Complaints

If something goes wrong:

  1. Raise the issue with your Tour Guide immediately – many things can be resolved on the spot.

Failure to follow this process may limit our ability to assist you or investigate.
